Wedding | Urban Greenhouse
As photographers, there’s nothing we love more than capturing weddings designed around authenticity and individual style. Weddings that steer clear of any set “theme”, but are instead curated around meaningful details, originality and fun. Lovers Carly and Bevan did exactly this for their urban-meets-chic wedding at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney, and it was a privilege to join them for the ride.
These two madly-in-love humans had total confidence in how they wanted their day to run, and weren’t afraid to scrap tradition and completely own their style. The end result? One seriously amazing Sydney celebration that reflected Carly and Bevan to an absolute tee.
From Carly’s uber-cool bridal jumpsuit to their ceremony transport and reception decor, these guys took an individual approach to planning their day – opting to throw a minimalist, urban-inspired garden party to celebrate with their favourite people together in the one place.
When we look back on this day, we instantly remember how incredibly special it was that Carly and Bevan chose to spend their wedding morning together. There’s something pretty amazing about two lovers sharing in that excitement, helping one another get dressed, and savouring a few private moments before the epic party to follow. It’s these sacred memories we look back on so fondly, and are eternally grateful to capture.
Hand in hand, Carly and Bevan strolled through colourful laneways and urban Sydney streetscapes, before hailing a taxi to the Royal Botanical Gardens to join their loved ones. Enclosed in an intimate glasshouse adorned with foliage garlands and simple festoon strings, they exchanged vows in a sweet ceremony complete with heartfelt emotion and soulful acoustics.
From there, guests shared grazing platters and celebratory drinks on the lawn while we snuck away to capture portraits in the garden, framed by towering fig trees, lush leafy botanicals and golden afternoon light. As the sun set, festivities kicked off inside the glasshouse with some truly epic dance floor fun, before Carly and Bevan ended their night walking back to the hotel and reflecting on every special moment from their celebration.
