Wedding | Destination Clifftop
Every so often, we’re lucky enough to travel abroad and document love stories across the globe (and we pinch ourselves each and every time!). Sonia and Marco’s Southern Baja destination wedding was an absolute dream to capture – not just for the breathtaking location, but for the personal touches and authentic moments that made this one seriously memorable party.
Taking place at picturesque coastal town Cabo San Lucas in Mexico (located at the tip of Baja California Sur, right where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean), Sonia and Marco wanted to create a day that reflected their bohemian style, while also remaining timeless and staying true to their surroundings. From their pre-wedding festivities (a beachfront cocktail party complete with piñatas and sky lanterns) right through to their intimate reception under the stars, every detail from this destination celebration was so thoughtfully chosen and beautifully executed, with an incredible team on board.
Cabo San Lucas is known for its spectacular weather year-round, and on the day itself we were blessed with the most amazing clear skies. These two lovers held a private ceremony on manicured lawns perched high in view of the stunning ocean. What made this site extra special? It was built by Sonia’s father many years ago with his daughter’s wedding day in mind, adding another layer of emotion and significance to their ceremony. So incredible!
Following this sweet celebration of love, we made the most of our breathtaking location, capturing sunset portraits against dreamy pastel skies and rocky cliffs overlooking the sea. An intimate reception followed at the beautiful El Encanto Suites, a traditional hacienda-style Mexican villa with an outdoor courtyard framed by giant cacti and stone walls. Wooden tables and mahogany chairs were set underneath a canopy of festoon lights and Papel Picado bunting, with romantic tablescapes complete with gold lanterns, amber goblets and simple white blooms.
The atmosphere inside the courtyard was intoxicating as guests were swept up in a wild night of dancing and fun, with plenty of laughter shared, authentic food devoured, and live music enjoyed. What a day!
