10 years of friendship, 5 years of growth and love for Pete and Dilhan before they said forever to each other – and what an absolute privilege it was to be there.
Taking place on the date of their anniversary, this relaxed Sydney wedding was the ultimate celebration of love between two people destined to be together. These guys knew their devotion to each other didn’t need the change of the law to become the real deal, because it had been that way right from the start. After a chance first encounter through mutual friends, Pete and Dilhan formed a rock-solid bond that saw them stay in touch for years across different cities and countries, before finally finding their way back to one another. It’s love stories like these that we live for!
What made this day all the more special for us was the genuine friendships forged. Pete and Dilhan had researched photographers for months before we met up in Sydney for an engagement session. The connection was instantaneous, and we were stoked to score an invite to the wedding soon after.
Their day was so incredibly relaxed and enjoyable from beginning to end, designed around everything and everyone they loved. These two spent the morning getting ready together alongside their uber-chic wedding party, and looked just as dapper as each other. Drawing on Pete and Dilhan’s love of industrial design and architecture, we captured pre-wedding portraits throughout the urban laneways of Sydney, doused in golden afternoon light. Walking hand in hand down the aisle, Pete and Dilhan then exchanged their forevers in an intimate outdoor ceremony underneath the arches of Paddington Reservoir – surrounded by love, and radiating nothing but pure joy and happiness.
Reception festivities kicked off at ethical event venue Freedom Hub; a spacious Sydney warehouse decked out with dried floral installations, glittering disco balls and old-school record players. Guests devoured grazing platters, gelato and bottomless booze, while the atmosphere came alive with good vibes, awesome humans and genuine love. Yep – we’d say this day was pretty perfect!
